Expedition Postponed, stay tuned for future expeditions!
June 4 [Day 6]
SÄTRA 120 km
After biking two days on his own, James decided to break the expedition. This was a two-man expedition and with me falling out, the trip and goal took on a new turn. Nordkap will always be there, and perhaps one day James and/or me will aime to reach it. As for now James is in Mora, waiting to get transportation home to Stockholm. I'm at home in Uppsala resting my knee, doctor's orders, and spending my days in the kayak. For sitting still is not an alternative as I have way to much energy. In July i'm off to Colorado, USA, where I will trekk and climb. Stay tuned as future expeditions are being planned. All the best to you all. Keep in touch! love Kristina

June 2 [Day 4]
MORA 40 km
Well, lot's has happened. We started biking in the morning sun, and it was nice weather. When we came to lake Siljan we came across the bike-competition Siljan Round. After biking alone we now encountered many other bikers. However, we carried somewhat more on our bikes compared to them. There goal was Mora, so was ours- for lunch anyway. With my 25kg:s and James 30kg:s, on our bikes, we managed to keep up with the other bikers. That felt pretty good! When arriving in Mora we sat down for lunch. Bad news: my left knee gave out the last couple of miles, so i'd been biking with one leg. After a long talk we decided that I have to brake the expedition. If continuation I would have perpermanent knee-damage. With months of planning for this trip, I find it difficult taking this decision. It feels like a failure, but is the right decision in order to keep my knee, and for future expeditions. James will continue to Nordkap and will report, with dispatches, to the homepage. Send your prayers and thoughts to him as he continues on his own. I thank all of you for your thoughts, support and prayers. Love to you all. hugs Kristina

June 1 [Day 3]
SILJANSNÄS 40 km
After resting all morning, and eating a good B-fast and lunch, we started biking at 2pm. Thank you Ulla and Åke, it was wonderful resting up at your house and you were wonderful hosts! Today we biked in sunny weather with 15 degrees C. What a difference from yesterdays weather. We biked a country road today thru Dalarna and it was gorgeous. Red houses, horses, big green meadows and mountains in the horison. It's a beutiful picture; looks very swedish! Tomorrow awaits Mora. Last time I was on the finish-line when skiing Vasaloppet. 'Til then, hugs from Xtina and James

May 31 [Day 2]
DJURÅS, Borlänge 120 km
Åke and James going through the map-route. Today it's been a long, rainy and hard day. We started biking at 8.30am and got to our goal at 8pm. Total of 11,5hours. It's rained all day and the traffic has been heavy, which gave us both a scare. After 90km: I was excausted and my knee-problem blossomed up, but James had good spirit! We filled up on nuts, raisons and dry fruit which gave good energy. We arrived at our goal, Ulla and Åke, who gave us a wonderful dinner. Drying clothes, shower, tea and a real bed is a nice breather, and our hosts are taking well care of us. (Ulla and Åke are close friends to my family) Tomorrow awaits a resting day filled with good food, sightseeing and lots of sugar!

May 30 [Day 1]
SALA 78 km
We got of to a great start. It's been raining all day, but luckely we have our iPoods to save us when we're down. We enjoyed a gorgeous lunch at a restaurant, in Heby Village and after that we regained lots of energy! After stopping outside of Sala I accedentely fell, with my feet still attached to the pedals, which resulted in great pain in my butt. However, the shame of falling was somewhat worse... Now I'm of to bed, eager for what tomorrow brings. (No more falling I hope)

May 28 [Preparation]
2 days to departure!

I'm trying to organise all the gear, planning food, eliminating-well trying to eliminate some things, and then pressing it all in to my very small bikebags? Why didn't I get bigger bags? Eliminating things is not easy, I mean a wetsuit always comes inhandy. Well, soon on the road. Then there'll be easier decisions to be made. 'Til then, bye for now.
